Introduction to Theatre Workshop Series
For participants aged 11 to 17, maximum 16 spots.

The Introduction to Theatre workshops will introduce you to theatre and help you prepare mini performances for the day of the Apple Butter and Cheese (ABC) Festival on Saturday, September 27. (Participants may do the workshops but do not need to perform anything in public!) See schedule below.
Workshops are planned and delivered by Mary Beth Jantzi, a retired high school drama teacher and graduate of the School of Dramatic Art, University of Windsor. There will be two adults in all workshops.

Wednesday, September 3 – Workshop 1
6:30 - 7:00 PM - Registration and fee payment
7:00 - 9:00 PM - Ensemble, Breathing, Vocalizing, Relaxation
Thursday, September 11 – Workshop 3
7:00 - 9:00 PM - Improvisation as an acting tool
Thursday, September 18 – Workshop 4
7:00 - 9:00 PM - Scene work and monologues
Thursday, September 25 – Workshop 5
7:00 - 9:00 PM - Scene work and monologues
Friday, September 26 – Workshop 6
7:00 - 9:00 PM - Rehearsal for Saturday performances.
Thursday, September 4 – Workshop 2
7:00 - 9:00 PM - Freeze Frames, Stage Movement
Saturday, September 27 – Mini Performance
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM – ABC Festival Open House, upstairs at the Library in the Theatre Wellesley Studio Space
12:45 - 2:00 PM - Mini performances, scenes & monologues.
Admission into performance is free!
Theatre Wellesley's space upstairs at the library is not accessible. Please contact bethjantzi@gmail.com if your child requires special assistance.
Cost
$20 per participant (Family deal - $15 for second child from the same family, $10 for third, etc.)
